The Environment service env1, pictured here, is where the Operating System ID and password are stored. This ties the Lawson user to the Operating System. Any user who uses the Lawson back office and submits batch jobs will need a unique Operating System ID stored on the Environment service. If Employee Self Service users do not use the Lawson back office and do not submit batch jobs, they do not need a unique Operating System ID. Those users can be tied to what is called the Privileged ID, which is created using the loadusers utility and tied to a dedicated single Operating System ID usually called ONLINE. The Privileged ID is stored on the environment service for all Employee Self Service-only users. |
